Coming from a background of performing arts, I know how important it is to have a dedicated venue in which to show case your art. After moving to Rifle in 2008, my wife and I were asked to help with a production with the Divine Family Theatre. It was a great experience, but having to perform in the cafeteria at Rifle middle school was less than ideal – for us and our audience. Shortly after, I heard about the plans to get the Ute Theater renovated, and I knew I had to get behind the effort.
Working with this group of dedicated individuals has been an amazing journey, as has the transformation of this iconic piece of Rifle’s history. It is my firm belief that the New Ute events Center will help define Rifle in the years to come. The Ute is the cornerstone for a flourishing downtown, and the foundation of a vibrant and robust cultural community. I am proud to be a part of it.
