Inspired by Latin American sonora orchestras with their strong emphasis on popular dance music as well as by the versatility of modern-day mariachi music, Jarabe Mexicano encapsulates the dynamic energy and nostalgia of their syncretic cultural heritage.
Captivating audiences throughout the U.S. and Mexico, Jarabe Mexicano will playing at the Ute Theater and Events Center on Saturday July 29th.
Performing a wide range repertoire on traditional mariachi instruments and accompanied by percussion, Jarabe’s arrangements feature harmonized vocals in Spanish and English. Along with celebrated Boleros, Huapangos, Sones, and Rancheras, audiences rave to their lively Cumbias as well as their revamped Rock & Roll hits and Reggae classics.
While their recently released bilingual anthem, “Get Up, Stand Up (Semillas)”, highlights the band’s distinct contemporary arrangements, their current EP album, SEMILLAS, also reflects Jarabe Mexicano’s approach to more traditional Mexican music as well as other Latin genres.
