Our watershed’s economy is driven by water, which is at the core of our communities character and lifestyle. MCWC is committed to finding solutions to water-related issues across the region for agricultural, municipal, recreational, and ecosystem users. We strive to strike a balance between human needs and ecosystem needs given an increasingly limited amount of water.

To meet the critical needs of all watershed stakeholders we lead stakeholder-driven watershed planning and projects, watershed tours, citizen science water quality monitoring, post-fire monitoring and recovery efforts, river restoration days and stream clean-up events, other special events, and educational programs at the Colorado River Interpretive Center, River Stop, in Rifle, Colorado.
